What is Cash Up to These Days?

Gosh, what is he not up to? He is just growing too fast for me! His first birthday is right around the corner and he does things everyday to remind me that he is quickly leaving the baby stage and heading into the toddler stage! Cash can now:

  1. eat finger foods (chicken, bananas, grapes, puffs, turkey, spaghetti, watermelon, green beans, peas, cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, and french fries so far)
  2. give fives
  3. give kisses
  4. push his walker
  5. drink from a leak proof sippy cup
  6. push cars around the house and make car noises
  7. climb stairs with ease
  8. knows what "no" means
  9. waving bye
  10. rolling a ball back and forth between mom/dad and self
  11. and he knows when dad is home. The door to the garage door opens (and squeaks) and Cash stops what he is doing, and makes a mad dash to the kitchen to meet dad. He does make a mad dash to the front door when Uncle Brice comes home too, but has to see who is coming through the front door first. :)
It is amazing to me how he is growing and learning. He has quite the personality and I think a little bit of attitude! When I tell him no, sometimes he will close his mouth, and scream! It doesn't last long though.

Cash is home with me for the month of July. I am loving our days together. In the morning, I go and get him when he wakes and we go back to my bed. We lay there and snuggle (while I wake up) and he will look at me and smile. Too cute! When it is nap time, sometimes I will lay back in the recliner and Cash and I will go to sleep and nap together. I wish these moments could last forever.

4th of July Weekend

This 4th of July, we spent the weekend down at the Lake at Ryan's mom's. Matt, Steph, and Harper came down and spent it with us. The boys swam in the pool then went down for naps. That allowed the moms and dads to go down to the dock to swim and layout. The water felt so good. It was great catching up with the Stokes' as well. The rest of Saturday, we just took it easy. It was such a relaxing day. Sunday, we all headed back to Jeff to enjoy the Jefferson City festivities. Ryan, Cash, and I went up later in the day in order to let Cash take a nap. There will be such fun things to do when Cash is a little older to enjoy them. Then we went over to Matt's parents because they had BBQed. It was delicious. We always enjoy seeing Roger and Donna. After eating, we went back up to the capital to find seating for the fireworks. The fireworks this year were such a disappointment. I hope they are better next year!

Cardinals Game

Ryan and I spent our first night away from Cash June 28th. It was Teacher Appreciation at the Cardinals game, so several of us ordered tickets. We had box seats, free drinks, and free buffet for only $50 a person.
Wes and Janelle went also, so we went up early and went to Dave & Busters. It was soooo much fun getting TICKETS! I LOOOOVVE!!!! TICKETS! I did get the shaft a few times though! There is this big wheel (like The Price is Right) and what ever number you land on, you get that many tickets. It costs about 10 tokens to play, but you can get lots in return. Well....I played 3 times and landed on the stupid 4! I did play more times and got more tickets as well though. Ryan wasn't all about getting tickets, so he would follow the kids around and pick up their tickets that they were dropping! We ended up getting Cash a big stuffed dog and a shot glass (for us).
Then we headed to our hotel, changed, and went down to Happy Hour and met up with some of our other co-workers to go to the game. The game was so much fun! I work with such a great group!

Swimming Lessons

Cash began swimming lessons Sat. March 6 and they go until May 1. All three of us are having such a wonderful time! So far, Cash has been for 3 weeks. The first week, he did really good, but by the end of 45 minutes, he was cold and was done. They taught us how to old Cash in the water and just getting him use to the water and kicking. He has always been a kicker. We lay him on the floor on his belly and he just kicks away, so we knew swimmng would be easy for him. In the last two weeks, we have been working on the back float and blowing bubbles. The first time we did the backfloat with Cash, he wasn't too sure about it, but by this week, he was doing it with no problem. He really is not scared of the water at all. The ages for this group are from 6 months to 3 years. There are a couple other little ones about Cash's age and they aren't yet able to put the back of their heads in the water yet. They still lean their heads against their parent's shoulders. Now blowing bubbles is another story. Cash loves to watch us blow bubbles, but he would rather eat the water instead of blow. We are working with him at home on how to put your lips together and blow to make noise, so he doesn't continue eating water. This week, Cash started slapping the water, like dad. He splashes in his face, stops, then does it all over again. I really think we are going to have a fish on our hands! Here are pics from the first week!

Random Pics

Many of you may remember that for Ryan's 30th birthday, his cousin Kelly gave him a couple shirts, well for Christmas, she gave Cash one of the same shirts. What a pair! Thanks Kelly! :)

I will fall in about 2.3 seconds!

I'm Crawling!

Friday, Feb. 26th, Cash saw a piece of paper on the ground and headed straight for it! He pushes with his feet and pulls with his elbows! He looks like a little military guy crawling under barbwire. He tries to hard and you can tell he is giving it his all. It won't be long until he's on all fours moving much, much faster! As for now, even though he doesn't go too fast, he's fast enough. We can walk out of the room for just a second and come back and he's across the room getting into something he shouldn't.
