Heather's Wedding

This past Saturday, Ryan and I attended another wedding. This time it was a co-worker of mine's special day. Heather is a first year teacher at California. Last year she did her student teaching across the hall from me and we taught summer school together last year. This year, she is still across the hall and we are both 4th grade teachers. She has been talking about this wedding since I met her. She likes to do everything at once, because not only was she doing her student teaching, she was planning a wedding and building a house! Then, this school year, she was doing her first year of teaching, starting her masters, building a house, and planning a wedding! Did I mention she also coached volleyball. She is a busy little bee!

I was worried about this wedding though. Heather's soon-to-be husband, Rusty, is an avid hunter and she said the wedding was going to be camo. I didn't know how she was going to pull it off, but I must admit, she did with great elegance. The guys had camo vests and ties. The girls wore yellow dresses. Her colors were yellow and green. It really wasn't as camo-y as I expected. There were camo coolie cups at the reception as well and the bartenders were wearing their camo shirts as well. Heather made a beautiful bride. I hope her day was everything she expected it to be.

Here is a picture of 4 of the 5 4th grade teachers and our principal, along with Rusty.

The 4 of us later on.

We really have a good time together!

Ryan and I at the end of the evening! It only took 4 takes before he would take a good one!

It's been a while!

It has been a while since I have updated our blog, so I thought I would get on and at least try and write something. Surprisingly enough, not a lot is going on in the Luebbert household (that is news worthy). That is probably why I haven't written. :) We are all moved into our new home, but we aren't settled. Ryan has a huge list of things he wants to accomplish, but his list never seems to get smaller no matter how much he works. The house is liveable, but no pictures are on the walls. That is the last thing on his list. He is more concerned about getting the basement arranged, ordering blinds (which he did last night), fixing the lawn mower, fixing little things around the house, etc. I can't say that I blame him though. I don't even know where I want things because that just isn't my forte.

Cash is doing well. He is kicking up a storm these days. Sometimes he kicks me so hard that is makes me jump. I go back to the doctor on Friday. I am anxious to see how much weight I have gained this month. Let's hope I am still under from when I found out I was pregnant, or just a few pounds heavier than that. I must say, other than the morning sickness, it has really been an easy pregnancy. The only thing I have trouble with is trying to get up from a laying down position. Ryan almost always has to help me up. Other than that, everything else is great. The pounds aren't packing on, lifting my leg to shave or put on lotion is not a problem (yet), bending over isn't a problem (yet), no backaches, I am not hot, no allergy problems (and this is one of my worst times of the year), and I can stay up-not tired all the time. It has been great. You wouldn't even think I was pregnant if my stomach wasn't getting larger. Hell, walking into this house, you wouldn't even think a baby was on the way!!! Cash's room has become the room that catches all the crap for some reason. I keep telling Ryan, "I don't know why you are putting that in there, you are just going to have to move it out." But, it doesn't seem to phase him, because it is out of his way for the time being I guess.
Ryan and I have weddings galore this year. Our first was the beginning of May. Ryan's sister, Roxanne, and Tony remarried on their 2nd anniversary for everyone to be apart of this time. It was a great time. Lots and Lots and Lots of drinking! I enjoyed my water though. Roxanne even took her beer with her for her first dance. I made Kelly go get it from her! Ryan's dad and uncles made most of the decorations for the reception. They did a great job! They made the arch thing to go over the head table and cut the wood you will see in all the pictures to tier the bottles of wine, to put the cake on, and to hold the votives. And not only did they make the decorations, they made homemade wine! If I remember correctly, Art said they made over 200 gallons. The bottles you see on the table were for people to take for souvenirs, but they were also serving bottles of wine out with the beer and mixed drinks.

I think the McKinney Family (Ryan's mom's side) like Brice more than me!

Next weekend, we have another wedding. One of the 4th grade teachers that I work with is getting married. It should be a good time. Our next wedding is in July. My stepbrother is finally saying "I do." My cousin is getting married and a friend are getting married in October.
This past weekend was Memorial Day. We went down to the lake to visit Ryan's mom and Doug. We hung out at Backwater Jack's most of Friday evening and then headed back to the cabin. Saturday, Jeanette and I went shopping for some shorts for me and Ryan needed new swimming trunks. His 38's were falling off of him, so I got him some 33's that fit much better! I can't believe how much weight he has taken off. Then we headed out of the boat. For Memorial Day weekend, I was surprised how calm the lake was! Well, the lake is never calm anymore with all those big boats, but you would have thought it was just a regular summer weekend. I guess the economy is really taking its toll. Saturday evening, we ate at home and rented some movies. Being out on the boat and being in the sun all day really took it's toll on all of us. Sunday morning, Ryan and I got up and headed to Lake Pomm de Terre to visit Josh and Lori and the rest of Lori's family. We had a good time. We sat around and visited and later Nick took us out on the boat. Lots of laughs and good conversation. Braden was off playing with all of his cousins most of the day, but before I left, had to make a point to come find me and show off his missing two front teeth. He was very proud. I sure as hell would have been too if my tooth fairy was as nice as his!!!! :) Too bad Cash's tooth fairy is going to be just as cheap as mine was! Ryan and I headed back home Sunday evening with enough time to stop for dinner and Andy's custard, unload the car, and crawl into bed. We were so looking forward to OUR bed. Nothing is more satisfying than coming home after a long weekend and finding the comfort of your own bed. we both slept like babies.
Monday, we went to Wes and Janelle's for pizza and hanging out with friends. We had a good time. The guys played washers in the garage most of the day. I love watching those fools joke around with one another. They are too funny. Chris is going to kill me, but I have the best picture of him and I am posting it! He was trying to interfere with my picture, but then tried to get out of the way when the picture took. He looks absolutely hillarious!!

Well, that has been the life of the Luebbert's lately. I guess there was more to write about than I thought!
